During his residency at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, he served as the administrative chief resident. After an academic career at Duke, in which he coordinated the required OB/GYN clinical clerkship for all medical students, departmental clinical outreach programs, and taught benign gynecology, he entered private practice in Atlanta, Georgia (1988-present).
Dr. Bearman has served in many medical leadership roles at Northside Hospital in Atlanta, including Chief of Staff, Chair of OB/GYN, Chair of Credentials Committee, and many others. He serves as the Vice-Chair of the Northside Hospital Board of Directors and is a member of the board's Quality Improvement and Planning Committees. Clinically, Dr. Bearman's practice is limited to gynecology, and he has specialized training in laparoscopic and vaginal surgery.
Dr. Bearman and his wife, Wendy, have three adult children and two grandchildren.
